Community Celebration
for Days of the Dead
Hands-on craft activities, demonstrations, music, dance, ceremonia, food,
and a mercado. Presenters include Cascada de Flores, Ballet
Folklorico Mexicano, La Familia Peña-Govea, Danza Xiuhcoatl, Mariachi San
Jose, and Yolanda Aranda.

Day
of the Dead Workshops: Candle Decoration and Sugar Skull Making
In the candle decorating demonstration, each participant will take
home their own painted candle. The candles are hand made and include a
printed design which each participant can personalize. The sugar skulls have
long been a Day of the Dead tradition and this year Galeria de la Raza
welcomes the Quintana Brothers of Mexico as they demonstrate their many
years of experience making beautiful sugar skulls.

Death and Rebirth: Dia de los Muertos
Celebration
Precita Eyes Muralists will be
having it's annual Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead celebration and
transforming their center into it's Dia de los Muertos environment to
celebrate the lives of murals and muralists who have passed on. These
include "Lilli Ann," by Chuy Campusano, Arch Williams, Stephen Demitrofs,
Lucienne Bloch, Bernard Zachem, Emmy Lou Packard, John Biggers, Eva
Cockcroft, Antonio Burciaya and Luis Cervantes.
