Thank you for helping save Medjool!
With supporters like you and hundreds of friends, family and
neighbors all pulling for this neighborhood-serving business,
we've managed to get our “day in court." Wednesday,
November 18, is our moment of truth! That's when the
San Francisco Board of Appeals will hear Medjool's appeal to the
city not to shut down the restaurant's popular roofdeck.
Despite valid permits that date back to 2002, the San Francisco
Planning Department has issued a notice of violation against the
roofdeck portion of Medjool restaurant – its most popular
feature!
If the city shuts down the roofdeck, Medjool would likely be
forced to close. At least 62 employees and more than 153 family
members – most of whom live in the Mission District – would be
devastated by this decision.
In these harsh economic times, with nearly 100 closed
storefronts on Mission Street, is this the policy we want our
city to pursue? Put restaurants out of business,
and workers out on the street?
Medjool has the law, precedent, fairness and community support
on its side. But we need the city to call off the dogs.
The Board of Appeals needs to hear your voice!
Help settle this once and for all – help us save Medjool!
Join us at the Board of Appeals hearing, 5 p.m., November 18, in
Room 416 at San Francisco City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett
Place.

Thank you all for your support,
The Medjool Family |
