QUESTION 9:

MODERATOR: I get the last question, and I would say that we are going to answer yes or no... [applause] ..so here goes: If you were elected mayor, would you commit one to two hours of your calendar every month for reviewing with leaders from the Mission, your progress in improving the Mission District? Yes or no? We’re peeking into the future now, so I would like to start with Mr. Ammiano.

TOM AMMIANO: I spend two hours on the 49 riding from where I live to the Civic Center sometimes, so that’s a yes.

MODERATOR: Ms. Leal.

SUSAL LEAL: Absolutely. It’s about time.

MODERATOR: Mr., Newsom.

GAVIN NEWSOM: Absolutely.

MODERATOR: Mr. Ribera.

TONY RIBERA: Not only would I commit to the two hours, but I won’t charge you for the time at La Rondalla.

MODERATOR: Mr. Gonzalez.

MATT GONZALEZ: My answer would be yes; I think it’s too short of a time.

MODERATOR: Ms. Alioto.

ANGELA ALIOTO: Yes.

MODERATOR: All right, we have a unanimous here, folks! [Applause, as the moderator thanks the guests, panelists, and audience and ends the meeting.]
