CaptionThe Harbourfront Centre is a key cultural facility on Toronto Ontario's waterfront situated at 235 Queen's Quay West. Established as a crown corporation in 1972 by the federal government to create a waterfront park it became a non-profit organization in 1991. Funding comes from corporate sponsors government grants individual donors and entrepreneurial activities. ________________ Harbourfront has several venues devoted to the arts. The Power Plant is a contemporary art gallery; behind it is the Du Maurier Theatre Centre. At the Craft Studio you can watch artisans blow glass throw pots and make silk-screen prints. You can buy their works at Bounty Contemporary Canadian Craft Shop. The Artists' Gardens currently include 21 mature and several new outdoor gardens created by landscape architects designers and other artists.
