| IPTC INFO | | Caption | Until the discovery of another wreck at the depth of 900m in the Mediterranean in 1998 little was known about Phoenician ships. The wreck had been buried in mud and sludge for about 2 500 years and appeared to have sunk in a storm. The find included hundreds of clay storage jars which on further study by nautical archaeologists proved to be the type used by the Phoenician colony of Carthage about the 5th century BC | | Headline | Phoenician type of ship in Comino's Blue Lagoon | | Copyright Notice | Troy 2004 | | URL | http://www.catholicchurch.co.za/Phoenecians.asp | | User | Guest |
