| IPTC INFO | | Caption | Underworld is an exploration of what lies beneath the sea mainly off the coasts of India Malta and Japan. Hancock well known for his disputes with orthodox archaeologists argues that they ought to be looking underwater for submerged ruins and that by not doing so they are stubbornly holding on to out-dated and incorrect theories. Hancock doesn't have a lot of time for academics. Most of them he seems to suggest having spent their careers safely in their ivory towers are unwilling even to consider new paradigms which could overturn everything they have learnt and taught. And Hancock's thesis would do just that.---in this massive book--well over 700 pages--he does provide sufficient evidence for flooded ruins that ought to be studied by real scholars. And if a few cherished paradigms are overturned in the process surely this is what science is all about. --David V Barrett ***** ***** What I really like about Hancock as author is that he also provides the orthodox view at the same time as his own theories. I cannot but agree with his statement "There's something wrong with the underpinning of history." Hancock has indicated the most likely places for pre-flood civilizations with the help of Dr. Glen Milne of Durham University who is an expert on glaciation-induced changes in the sea level and taking into account the plethora of flood-myths found amongst all cultures on all continents. Underworld is lavishly illustrated and well served by a thorough index and extensive bibliography. This gripping text will amply reward the reader who enjoyed Hancock's earlier titles like Keepers of Genesis and Fingerprints of the Gods.' irridium from SANDTON South Africa [top 10 reviewer] | | Headline | exploring beneath the Maltese Coast-new paradigms of prehistory | | Copyright Notice | by Graham Hancock at amazon.co.uk | | URL | http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0718144007/carnacomaforucom | | User | Guest |
